How did God communicate His Word to man? This is a process the Bible describes as inspiration. Inspiration is not the same as the Bible being an inspiring book, which is true; it creates much interest, joy and enthusiasm. But more than that, the Bible is a book inspired BY God. They are legion who want nothing more than to tear down our confidence in the authority of the Scriptures. The God revealed to us in the Bible exists (Gen 1-4). He is the Eternal One in Three Persons (Deut 33:27; Isa 57:15; Matt 28:19). He is the Living and True God (1 Thess 1:9), the Grand Designer of Heaven and the material universe (Psa 19:1; 33:6; Heb 11:3). And He wishes to communicate to His intelligent and rational creatures (Heb 11:1-3); that would be expected of the all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present God we read about in the Bible.
