Paul and Silas “Singing in the Pain”

Monday, January 11th, 2010

It is easier to rejoice when everything is going well. There are few Christians who will “sing in the pain”, but we’re going to remember two who did (Acts 16).

Servant, Servants, Service

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

This series of lessons will delve deeply into the meaning of servitude, i.e., what it means to be a servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ. A Christian has been called to be like his Master (Matt 10:24-25) and his Master was a Servant (Matt 20:24-28). Through these studies we will be able to adjust our concept of servant with the actual Biblical meaning of the term.

Bearing Fruit In Old Age

Monday, January 26th, 2009

The apostle Thomas has been unfairly branded as a doubter of Jesus Christ. As we will see in this lesson, Thomas became a great man of faith in Christ, and a great apostle for the cause of Christ. Let’s look away from his moment of doubt to see what we can learn from Thomas when he was at his best.

Jesus’ Two-fold Promise (John 6:35-40)

Monday, April 7th, 2008

“Everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

The promises Jesus made in verse 40 have two conditions: seeing the Son and believing in Him; no one would question that point. Why then do people doubt the conditions for salvation that Jesus stated in Mark 16:16: “he who believes and is baptized shall be saved” - the sentence construction is the same in both passages. But the purpose of this study is to see how the Lord’s conditional promises may apply to us.

Exhorting Daily (Hebrews 3)

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

When was the last time you exhorted someone to be more faithful to God by your choice of words? God commands us to urge one another to pursue a course of conduct with which He would be well pleased. We can all say something that would help someone live more faithfully to the Lord?

Christians In A Permissive World

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

Solomon said, “That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which it may be said, “See, this is new”? It has already been in ancient times before us” (Ecc 1:9-10). The sins of modern America have been repeated in many other societies throughout history. Several centuries ago the Apostle Paul wrote, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornica-tors, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Cor 6:9-10).
