How To View The Bible

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

How we view the Bible will determine whether or not we join in the general apostasy of the church. Therefore we must view the Bible as the perfect revelation from the perfect God.

The Authority Of Scripture

Monday, February 16th, 2009

They are legion who want nothing more than to tear down our confidence in the authority of the Scriptures. But if it can be determined that the Bible is authored by God, then its authority over us will speak for itself - it is, then, the Holy Scriptures. The time has come for Christians to hold fast their confidence in the authority of the Scriptures.

Trusting God’s Record Of The Flood

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

There is not a subject in the Bible that has been ridiculed more often than the Noahic Flood. Noah’s ark has born the brunt of more jokes than any other Biblical icon. The events recorded in Genesis 6-9 are held in great derision by many in our modern times. Before anyone can accept the Biblical account of the Flood, he must accept that there is One Omnipotent God, because there are six areas where supernatural power was required.

Are You “Of The Truth”?

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Jesus spoke of those who are “of the Truth”. Therefore, it must be possible to know the truth, and to live by the truth. Truth certainly wasn’t a foreign concept to New Testament Christians. This lesson will explore the attitudes of those who are “of the Truth”, and how they ought to deal with those who are NOT “of the truth”, and finally, why more people are not “of the Truth”.

Buy The Truth

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Solomon wrote, “Buy the TRUTH, and do not sell it” (Pro 23:23). But the very idea of a single standard of TRUTH is offensive to many people. It’s out-of-date to say that Scripture is TRUTH, or to claim that the Bible is the complete and final word of God (cf. 2 Tim 3:16-17). Relativism rules the belief system of our modern age. However, the Son of God claims to have given us all the TRUTH.

Holding Fast Our Confidence In The Scripture #2

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

The God revealed to us in the Bible exists (Gen 1-4). He is the Eternal One in Three Persons (Deut 33:27; Isa 57:15; Matt 28:19). He is the Living and True God (1 Thess 1:9), the Grand Designer of Heaven and the material universe (Psa 19:1; 33:6; Heb 11:3). And He wishes to communicate to His intelligent and rational creatures (Heb 11:1-3); that would be expected of the all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present God we read about in the Bible.

God’s Thunderous Silence!

Monday, July 30th, 2007

In showing that Jesus could not be a priest on earth, the writer of Hebrews argues that the silence of the Scriptures restricts rather than gives permission to act. He wrote, “For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood” (Heb 7:14). Acting upon the silence of the Scriptures, Jesus could have been a priest on earth, but that would have been in direct violation to the law under which He lived.

Speaking Truth In Love

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

A question once raised is relevant today, “What must I do to be saved” (Acts 16:30; cf. Acts 2:38)? The gospel of Jesus Christ, since it is the power of God to salvation (Rom 1:16), must obviously speak to this important question.

The written testimony of eye-witnesses (chosen by God: apostles) declared Jesus to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead (Jn 20:31; Acts 10:41; Rom 1:1-4). To believe this fact is so important that if one rejects it he will be separated from God eternally (Jn 3:16; 8:24).
