The Israelites would have many lessons to learn and relearn through the centuries, from the Lord their God, but if they had simply learned and passed on to their children the lessons learned at Jericho then they could have avoided many of the problems they would face later.
What did God teach Israel at Jericho? They are lessons appropriate for Christians and the church today.

There is a fierce ongoing battle being waged between good and evil, righteousness and wickedness. That battle was lost in Sodom and Gomorrah in Lot’s day (Gen 19). What is even sadder was that the battle was lost in Lot’s family. Let us consider the consequences of that tragic state “When Sodom Lived in Lot’s Family”.

Many lessons can be gleaned from the Biblical record of Samson’s life. He was an impetuous man driven to act on emotions. One minute he could be gentle and affectionate toward a beautiful woman, and then the next minute he could cruel and heartless, as when he slew 1000 Philistine men with the jawbone of a donkey and then set their cornfields on fire. Chapter 14 in the book of Judges lays out several good life lessons for us demonstrated in one eventĀ in the life of Samson.
