“Remove Not The Ancient Landmarks”

Monday, January 25th, 2010

The psalmist wrote, “I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times” (77:5). Much good can result from considering ancient times, especially God’s ancient people. Today we want to consider an ancient truth that God expressed to Israel, but which also has an application to the church.

What God Has Joined

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Marriage laws, customs and ceremonies may differ from one place to another, but only God may join two people together in holy wedlock, and of those two one must be a man and the other a woman. In addition, only God has the authority to say who can be married, who cannot be married and who can terminate a marriage.

Forks In The Road

Monday, May 18th, 2009

The Biblical view of life, God’s explanation of life, is that it is like being on a long road that comes to a fork every so often. And at each fork in the road a decision has to be made about direction. Though some good effect may result from taking the wrong road, there is no virtue in making the wrong decision, one that conflicts with God’s revealed will.

Accountablity To The Law Of God

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

There has never been a period of time when man was not accountable to the will of his Creator. This is a series of lesson on man’s accountability to God’s law. Our purpose will be to show that God’s laws regarding sexual morality and the holy covenant of marriage has remained constant or unchanged from the beginning. And when those laws are violated, men become guilty of the sin of adultery.

Authority: From Heaven or Men? (Matt 21:23-27)

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

As the stage is set for the Olympic Games, and as the world travels to Beijing to watch the various athletic events, there will be one thing on the minds of most people - AUTHORITY! The Chinese government retains absolute authority over everyone in their nation (to the extent that God will allow), and no one dares do anything that would put him in jeopardy of displeasing the officials of that nation.

Why can’t people have that kind of fear and respect for God Who holds true absolute authority over everyone?

The study of authority lies at the foundation of everything we believe, teach and practice as individual Christians and collectively as a local church. Every religious question is fundamentally a question of whose authority is recognized - man’s or God’s.

You Must Be Born Again (John 3:1-8)

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Jesus told Nicodemus that one “must be born again” to “see” and to “enter the kingdom of God. This is very important because the kingdom is that which Jesus will present to the Father in heaven at the end of time (1 Cor 15:24). That’s where I want to be; how about you?

Five Things True About Eternity

Monday, April 21st, 2008

“Eternity” is the matter of life after death. Solomon informed us that God put eternity in our hearts; He wants us to know that we are more than just physical beings (Ecc 3:11). Understanding eternity is important because what we believe about it will influence our actions. Jesus has much to say on the subject of eternity. In fact, He states five truths about life after death.
